QUALIFICATIONS
➢ Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business
Administration.
➢ Holder of East African Customs Clearing and Freight Forwarding Practice (added
advantage)
EXPERIENCE
➢ 5+ years of experience in operations management within the logistics, clearing and
forwarding industry.
➢ Proven track record of managing teams and driving operational improvements.
SKILLS
➢ Strong leadership and team management skills.
➢ Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
➢ Proficient knowledge of customs regulations, import/export processes and
shipping logistics.
➢ Strong analytical and problem- solving skills,
➢ Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
➢ Good computer skill familiar with MS-Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word).
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management;
➢ oversee all aspects of operations including customs clearance, freight forwarding
and logistics management
➢ Develop and implement SOP to improve efficiency and minimize operational risks.
➢ Manage resource allocation including personnel, equipment and budget to optimize
operational efficiency.
Team leadership
➢ Manage, train and mentor operational staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and
continuous development.
➢ Lead regular team meetings to ensure clear communication of goals, performance
expectations and operational updates.
Client Relationship Management
➢ Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs
and provide superior service.
➢ Serve as a point of contact for key clients, addressing concerns and ensuring
satisfactory resolution of issues.
Performance monitoring
➢ Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics to identify areas for
improvements and track progress.
➢ Implement performance management systems that facilitate regular assessment of
team performance.
Collaboration
➢ Collaborate with other departments such as Finance and HR to align operational
strategies with business objectives.
➢ Work with external stakeholders including shipping lines and freight forwarders to
coordinate logistics and improve service offerings.
Process Improvements
➢ Identify and implement innovative solutions to streamline operations and enhance
service delivery.
➢ Conduct regular reviews of operations and enhance service delivery.
Reporting
➢ Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on operational
performance, challenges and initiatives.
