Transport Manager
Educational and Experience Requirements:
●Bachelor's Degree in Logistics/Business Management or related field
●An excellent written and oral command of English and Swahili.
●Proficient in relevant computer software
●Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
●8+ years in Logistics & People management related field experience
●Experience working with logistics companies is an added advantage
Working Conditions:
●The working station is in Dar es Salaam – Tanzania
●The Transport Manager will be required to work as per EA Logistics Limited working conditions in terms of working hours and days and when necessary, the employee may be required to work beyond working hours
● Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers while performing the duties of this job.
● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
● Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
● Flexible extra working hours to match with the nature of EAF’s/EAL business and the Head of Division as well as CEO involvement in various aspects of the business.
● Able to travel within Dar Es Salaam, other regions, and countries where the company has operations

● Financial and Administrative Competence: Well-versed in accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger processes, and proficient in using accounting software.
● Industry Expertise and Process Improvement: Skilled in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or supply chain management, with a strong understanding of people management and continuous improvement methodologies.
● Data Analytics: Proficient in data analytics and visualization tools, with a focus on adhering to deadlines and managing tasks efficiently within time constraints.
● Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using G-Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and conferencing tools like Zoom to enhance productivity and foster collaboration.
●Adaptability and Problem-Solving Skills: Highly flexible, able to quickly adjust to shifting priorities and skilled at proactively identifying and resolving challenges while maintaining professionalism.
Duties and Responsibilities:
2.1. Logistics Revenue Growth:
● Identify and develop the Logistics revenue growth by bringing in new contracts and the desired margin.
● Plan and manage internal logistics stakeholders and meet their Logistics requirements.
● Able to negotiate and bring in contracts with external customers with high margins and service from Logistics service providers with an ideal negotiated rate.
●Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize logistics operations
●Create and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for logistics operations.
●Ensure accurate and timely reporting, including variance analysis and trend identification of the growth and margin analysis.
2.2. Cost Control:
● Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
● Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
● Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage fleet movements with the help of direct reports.
2.3. Process Development & Implementation:
● Develop and Contribute to the creation and implementation of best-practice logistics vision, strategy, policies, and processes to aid and improve operational performance.
● Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
● Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
● Recommend optimal transport modes, routes, or frequency.
● Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, inbound and outbound, or customer issues.
● Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes in potential new facilities or branches and advise of cost implications and efficiency.
● Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreement.
● Interpret trends and analyze and review data. Provide meaningful logistics data to others in the organization to aid customer service and cost improvements
● Ensure IT systems in place are effective, maintained, and accurate.
● Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation are available.
● Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected with the logistics process.
● Ensure products are transported appropriately to ensure the quality of goods during transportation.
2.4. Systems and Technology:
● Able to understand and implement logistics software and systems, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
2.5. Leadership and Communication:
● Able to lead a team of Drives and Logistics staff, train them, and communicate properly.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and customer service.
● Lead and mentor junior team members, as needed.
● Anticipating potential issues and implementing preventive measures by providing relevant information and support to the Head Of Logistics or Senior Management or the CEO to make decisions.
● Collaborating with other team members to overcome obstacles and any change that a company will be facing
