Assistant Food Safety Officer

Field: Manufacturing and processing industry |Pharmaceutical |Chemical companies

Qualifications:

  1. Educational Qualification: A diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Processing, Food Safety, or a related field.
  2. Experience:
  3. Proven 2/3 years, of working experience in food safety or a related field.
  4. Experience in Internal and external standards e.g. ISO 17025, ISO 22000:2018, BRCGS
  5. Computer literacy and experience with Laboratory Information Systems.
  6. The candidate should be willing to work in Mtwara

Duties and Responsibility

  • Inspection and Monitoring: Conducting regular inspections of food processing facilities, and other food establishments to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Sampling and Testing: Collecting food samples and conducting laboratory tests to detect contamination or ensure quality standards are met.
  • Compliance and Enforcement: Ensuring that food businesses comply with food safety laws and regulations, and taking enforcement actions when necessary.
  • Training and Education: Providing training and education to food handlers and businesses on proper food safety practices and regulations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of inspections, test results, and compliance actions
