IT & Support Officer (Operations)
Purpose of the role
The candidate for this role will be responsible for providing efficient IT support and operational assistance by installing, maintaining, and administering computer hardware, software, network infrastructure, and business applications while supporting application and data management functions to ensure the smooth execution of IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and network systems.
Develop and support data collection and submission systems to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
Analyze data and generate reports using statistical techniques to support business operations.
Perform SQL and Oracle database querying, administration, and monitoring activities.
Assist in managing user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access permissions, and security access through Microsoft Active Directory.
Perform daily system backups and support backup rotation between onsite and offsite storage locations.
Assist in administering virtual server and storage environments using VMware and Hyper-V.
Support the administration and maintenance of IT infrastructure both onsite and remotely.
Ensure compliance with information security and data management policies and procedures.
Coordinate with clients, vendors, consultants, and internal teams to support IT and operational projects.
Monitor system performance, identify technical issues, and recommend appropriate technology solutions.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and maintain accurate IT records.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure support.
Experience with SQL and Oracle database querying and administration.
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, including user account and access management.
Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, and virtual server administration.
Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, networking, troubleshooting, and information security.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs.
