Outsourcing HR Supervisor
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Outsourcing HR Supervisor to support our client’s construction project in Zanzibar. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR activities at the project site, managing both skilled and unskilled labour, and ensuring smooth workforce coordination.
The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of the Zanzibar labour market, previous experience in the construction sector, and the ability to respond quickly to staffing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and coordinate day-to-day HR activities at the construction project site.
• Oversee and manage both skilled and unskilled workers.
• Support recruitment and mobilization of workers based on project requirements.
• Facilitate quick replacement of staff/workers when required to minimize project disruptions.
• Maintain employee records, attendance, leave and other HR documentation.
• Coordinate employee onboarding, induction and site orientation.
• Address employee relations and workplace concerns.
• Ensure compliance with company HR policies and applicable labour requirements.
• Work closely with project management and supervisors to identify workforce needs.
• Promote good employee relations, discipline and productivity at the project site.
• Support implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements in coordination with the HSE team.
• Prepare regular HR and manpower reports for management.
Requirements
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in human resources management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably within the construction industry.
• Previous experience managing construction/project-based employees is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of the Zanzibar labour market and availability of local manpower.
• Ability to facilitate quick staff replacement and workforce mobilization when required.
• HSE qualification/certification will be an added advantage.
• Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy construction/project environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple HR activities simultaneously.
