Financial Controller
Role Purpose To lead the day-to-day financial management, financial controls and reporting, ensuring reliable accounting records, timely reporting and disciplined financial processes.
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Financial Controller to take full responsibility for day-to-day financial management, financial controls and reporting. The role requires an all-round finance professional who can work independently and maintain accurate, timely and well-controlled financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Take responsibility for the full accounting and financial control function.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Prepare and review bank, tenant and supplier reconciliations.
• Coordinate budget preparation, monitor performance and report material variances.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare accurate, timely financial reports.
• Ensure that payments are properly approved and supported by complete documentation and effective controls.
• Support revenue collection, tenant billing and debt-control activities.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, withholding taxes and other applicable statutory requirements.
• Support payroll preparation and complete the related reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely month-end reporting.
• Supervise, support and develop the accounts team.
• Work closely with the Group Financial Controller, Revenue Assurance and Company management.
Required Qualifications:
• A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Approximately 10 or more years of relevant finance and accounting experience, supported by a strong professional track record.
• Strong practical experience in receivables, payables, reconciliations, budgeting, taxation, payroll and financial controls.
• Experience in real estate, property management, shopping malls, construction or a related private-sector business is preferred.
• A CPA qualification is preferred but is not mandatory where the candidate demonstrates strong and relevant practical experience.
• An experienced, all-round accounting and finance professional capable of operating at a senior level.
• Mature, hands-on, organised and able to work independently.
• Strong in financial control, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
• Able to work effectively with operational management, group finance and other relevant functions.
